SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A new state equity metric system for COVID-19 could help Monterey County reopen more areas of the economy, if the county brings down its case positivity rate.

KION's Elisha Machado will have a live report on KION News at 5 and 6 with more on the new system and how business owners have been impacted by the old system during the pandemic.
