Rosine’s Restaurant founding co-owner passes away
MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Staff at Rosine's Restaurant in Monterey announced Rosine Culcasi has passed away at the age of 85.
The announcement was made through the restaurant's social media account. It also said Rosine passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning.
"We are all mourning her death and will miss her tremendously, though we know heaven has gained an angel today," the post read.
The award-winning restaurant was previously featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.
The restaurant first opened back in 1980 by the Culcasi Family in the Del Monte Shopping Center and has been a Monterey mainstay ever since.
Jim and Rosine Culcasi were previously honored at the Italian Heritage Society award dinner back on 2019.
"To know Rosine was a blessing. We will remember her integrity, her endless generosity and her commitment to excellence that spanned generations."

It is with great sadness that we announce that Rosine passed away peacefully this morning at the age of 85.
We are all mourning her death and will miss her tremendously, though we know heaven has gained an angel today.

We respectfully ask for privacy at this time. We will have more to say in the future, including plans to celebrate her life; we know so many of you were touched by her in one way or another.
