Deadly crash involving multiple motorcycles Friday night

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Monterey County Highway Patrol confirmed that they are looking into an incident involving a cluster of motorcycles on Carmel Valley Road Friday night.

Jessica Madueno with the CHP said that around 7 p.m. Friday, a collision involving multiple motorcycles took place on the road for reasons still under investigation.

The driver of the first motorcycle was ejected before sustaining major injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to CHP.

They said that the driver of the second motorcycle received major injuries and was transported to Natividad Medical Center.

This case is ongoing and currently being investigated by highway patrol. They are unsure if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
