Deputies looking for a male suspect who allegedly robbed a Castroville bank

CASTROVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office is looking for a male suspect who allegedly robbed a bank in Castroville on Thursday afternoon.

Deputies said that they received a report of a robbery at the Mechanics Bank on the 106100 block of Merritt Street around 1:44 p.m.

Investigators said the male suspect walked into the bank and pulled out a gun and demanded money from the clerk.

Deputies said the suspect was able to leave the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Deputies said that nobody inside the bank was injured.

Investigators said the suspect was last seen leaving on foot in the parking lot.

The Sheriff's Office is describing the suspect as a light-skinned man in his 30's who weighs 130 pounds. The man was described to be wearing a black sweatshirt, blue surgical mask, red beanie and wearing tan/khaki paints.

The suspect also was wearing a fake black beard at the time.
