Carmel police to patrol on electric bikes

CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. (KION) A number of officers with the Carmel-by-the-Sea Police Department will be patrolling on electric bikes moving forward.

The bikes provide a low-cost, energy-efficient way to conduct patrols, and come as part of Chief Paul Tomasi's attempt to increase engagement between the department and the community it serves.
