Two people cited for shelter-in-place violation while driving stolen vehicle

CASTROVILLE, Calif. (KION) Two shelter-in-place violators were arrested early Saturday morning in Castroville, while driving around in a stolen vehicle, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested the driver, Salvador Garcia-Lozaro, and passenger, Carmen Herandez.

The Sheriff's Office said they were traveling in a stolen Acura on Echo Valley Road and tried to get away from deputies by pulling into someone's driveway.

They were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
