Marina restaurant feeding coronavirus first responders with help of customers
Marina, Calif. (KION) A Marina restaurant is open during the shelter in place and they are doing what they can to say 'thank you' to first responders.
While many restaurants have closed their doors, online orders are keeping some, like Teriyaki Madness in Marina, in business.
"It's made a huge difference it's kept us afloat, I know a lot of restaurants especially the sit down ones have shut down," says owner Jon Marsh.
During this stay-at-home order, Teriyaki Madness wants to help feed coronavirus first responders.
"We truly wanted to find a way to give back to the healthcare working and the people on the front lines," says Jodi Boyce, Executive VP of Marketing.
"We really value them and want to take care of them because they are putting themselves out there and it's impressive and were impressive and we want to help them out anyway we can," says Marsh.
Customer who want to help, simply have to place an order.
"They're going to pay half, we're going to match the rest and we're going to deliver it to those locations," says Boyce.
The initiative launched last Thursday, with more than 45 order placed for first responders already.
"We've got a lot of response for it. Its going well, we're about to start doing our deliveries this week," says Marsh.
If you aren't sure where you want the meal delivered, Teriyaki Madness will make sure it gets to a hospital, healthcare center or first responder.
