Mora said he and his family are longtime residents of Hollister, and all of their children attend local schools while the oldest is in college. He said he worked as a Group Counselor and Senior Group Counselor while working as a Juvenile Corrections Officer with the Santa Clara County Probation Department. He said he has also worked as a special education teacher's aid and group home counselor. For the past two years, he has worked as a mortgage loan officer with a local company while coaching football, wrestling, girls' soccer and softball.
If elected, Mora said he hopes to appoint a Mayor's Blue-Ribbon Committee to advise the City Council as the move toward reopening, adopt a Resident's Bill of Rights to establish rules for how residents are treated when interacting with officials and adopt a City of Hollister Rules of Decorum to make sure public meetings are run in an efficient and respectful manner. Mora said some of the issues he will prioritize include housing, traffic, jobs and economic development.
Mora attended Chabot Junior College and Gavilan College.

Velazques is currently the Mayor of Hollister and has served in that position since 2012. During his time as mayor, he says he has worked to keep the public informed about how they can work to fight COVID-19 and no longer allows develops and special interests to get their projects approved at the taxpayers' expense.
