Hollister juvenile detained after trying to break into a vehicle

HOLLISTER, Calif, (KION-TV)- Hollister Police said they detained a juvenile after they were trying to break into a vehicle on Tuesday night.

Police said they received reports of a vehicle burglary that took place near Veterans Memorial Park.

Officers said that they spotted the suspect as they tried to get away by running through the park and then running through the Sunnyslope Elementary School.

Hollister Police said they set up a search perimeter around the school and a search team was sent around the school.

Officers were able locate the juvenile near an AC unit at the school and they detained the suspect.
