Police identify man killed in Saturday night shooting in Salinas
SALINAS, Calif. (KION)
UPDATE 11/23/2020 12:40 p.m. Salinas police have identified the victim of a Saturday night homicide in Salinas.
Police said the victim was 36-year-old Salinas resident Jose Guadalupe Lopez Islas.
Islas was found with a gunshot wound in the 800 block of Del Monte Avenue after officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation. He died of his injuries.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Salinas Police Department is investigating an apparent homicide that occurred on the 800 block of Del Monte Avenue Saturday night.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation near Del Monte Avenue at 11:30 p.m. They discovered an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds to his upper torso upon arriving at the scene. The man later died of his injuries.
There are currently no suspects in this case.
