Plane crashes into Fullerton warehouse Thursday afternoon
FULLERTON, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Fullerton Police announced Thursday afternoon that two people have died with another 18 injuries after a small plane crashed in the 2300 block of Raymer Avenue near the Fullerton Airport.
They made a post on X that said paramedics were hospitalizing 10 people and crews treated, then released eight people at the scene.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. and involved a single-engine Van's RV-10.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
"A small plane crashed into a furniture manufacturing building in Fullerton in our district," wrote Rep. Lou Correa (Orange County congressional district) in a post to X about the incident. "At least a dozen workers were injured hurt. Passengers' status unknown."
CBS in Los Angeles said that authorities have not released details about how the crash happened, and one witness told the news station: "It looked like something from a movie," said Javier Ruiz.
Ruiz talked about a "loud noise" before he exited the building. Police also wrote in a post on X that they issued evacuations at 2:39 p.m.: "Plane crash in the 2300 block of Raymer Ave. Evacuations are underway in the 2300 block of Raymer. Avoid the area. PD PIO en route."
According to CBS, this is the second known plane crash at the airport within the last two months. They said that on November 25, another small plane crashed into a tree in the 2400 block of Artesia Avenue, about one block away from the most recent deadly crash.
