Strong storm makes holiday travel tricky in Southern California
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A powerful winter storm has brought a deluge of rain and snow to Southern California.
Snow has shut down vital Interstate 5 in Tejon Pass through the mountains north of Los Angeles and Interstate 15 over Cajon Pass in the inland region to the east.
A trucker was found unresponsive in a rig stopped on Tejon Pass and pronounced dead but it was not known if the death was weather-related.
The tempest triggered tornado warnings overnight in Santa Barbara and Orange counties when radar indicated rotation in severe thunderstorms. The warnings have since been canceled.
