Missing San Jose toddler found, Amber Alert deactivated
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KION)
UPDATE 12/16/2019 11:00 a.m. The CHP has deactivated an Amber Alert for a toddler missing out of San Jose. The CHP said the girl and her father were found, but did not give any more details.
2-year-old Bethanie Carraza was reportedly taken by her father, 24-year-old Victor Magana, after he stabbed his girlfriend Sunday night.
According to KION's sister station in San Luis Obispo County, the girl was found safe at a gas station in Cambria. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office tells KEYT that someone saw the suspect vehicle at a Shell Station on Main Street. Deputies told them the father had locked his keys in the car with the girl inside and witnesses confronted him. The witnesses held him until deputies got there and arrested him.
The Amber Alert was issued for Alameda, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Stanislaus, and Ventura counties.

Officers say 24-year-old Victor Magana assaulted and stabbed his girlfriend Sunday evening. They say he then took off with their 2-year-old Bethanie Carraza before police could get there.
Magana is driving a 2007 green Hyundai Santa Fe with California license plate 7XJX025.
He is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
The Amber Alert was issued for Alameda, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Stanislaus, and Ventura counties.
