NEW YORK (AP) — A Russian billionaire has been criminally charged in New York with violating U.S. sanctions. Three of his associates also were charged in an indictment unsealed Thursday in Manhattan federal court that charged the Russian oligarch, Oleg Deripaska. Only Olga Shriki was in custody after she was arrested at her Jersey City, New Jersey, residence. She was later released on $2 million bail. Her lawyer declined comment. Manhattan federal prosecutor Andrew Adams said Deripaska lied and evaded U.S. sanctions to seek comfort and citizenship in the United States. He also was charged in a scheme to ensure his child was born in the United States.
