Florida environmentalist, Janet Reno’s sister dies at 81

STUART, Fla. (AP) — An environmentalist who fought to protect the Florida wetlands and who was the sister of former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, has died. Her family said the 81-year-old passed away Saturday. The nonprofit group Friends of the Everglades confirmed her death, calling her a legend. She played a key role in environmental restoration serving on the Governor’s Commission for a Sustainable South Florida. She was known for kayaking through the Everglades near her home in Stuart, Florida.
