UN climate talks: Faint progress on money, none on pollution

Officials are touting faint progress on money, but little on pollution at a United Nations world leader summit on climate change. Monday’s meeting has UN officials pointing to Tuesday when they hope President Biden will make some big financial commitments to help poorer nations switch to green energy and cope with climate change’s worse impacts. No nation is promising to increase promised cuts in carbon pollution that leads to climate change. World leaders talk of being frustrated. A German official says discussions during the meeting were not polite. The United Nations chief is warning of failure in upcoming key climate negotiations in Scotland.
