James’ 21 lead Tulane past Sacramento State 92-57

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Sion James had 21 points in Tulane’s 92-57 win over Sacramento State on Friday night.

James was 8 of 10 shooting, including 3 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 4 from the line for the Green Wave (3-0). Kevin Cross scored 17 points, going 5 of 8 and 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Jaylen Forbes shot 5 for 9, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points, while adding three steals.

Duncan Powell led the way for the Hornets (1-3) with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Austin Patterson added 11 points for Sacramento State. Zee Hamoda also had seven points and two steals.

NEXT UP

Both teams next play Monday. Tulane plays Bradley and Sacramento State takes on CSU Bakersfield.
