TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Republicans promoting claims of widespread voter fraud in at least two politically important states are turning to a new tactic to appease voters who falsely believe the 2020 presidential election was stolen. Efforts in Florida and Georgia would establish special law enforcement units dedicated to investigating possible voting or election crimes. Voting rights groups say the police units are redundant and could be leverage for partisan investigations.
