KION Pets of the Week for June 12, 2025

Time for a double dose of Pet of the Week on KION.

Meet: Umberto! From Our Neighborhood Pet Project

Umberto came into the rescue back on May 11th with a severe upper respiratory infection and a cut between his gumline and bottom lip.

The kitten eventually healed quickly, showing he has a fighting spirit.

Umberto is described as a sweet, affectionate and playful kitten. He loves toys and treats, along with playing with other foster kittens.

He's described as a chill cat and currently lives with three other foster kittens as well as his foster family's adult cat and two small dogs.

Animal Friends Rescue Project introduces Sonny Dee!

Sonny Dee is an adorable pup from Animal Friends Rescue Project.

He's described as a gentleman with a heart full of love and spirit.

AFRP says he's an older pup that wants a home to live out the rest of his days.

He enjoys three-mile walks but is perfectly content with curling up beside his fellow human and taking a nap.

Sonny Dee's perfect home is described as one where people are home often and would be okay with mellow dogs and dog-friendly cats.
