Salinas Police join Police Unity Tour

Several police officers from the Salinas Police department joined the 2025 Police Unity Tour for National Police Week. The tour is a nearly 300 mile bicycle ride over 4 days from Eatontown, New Jersey to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.

Police from around the nation coming together to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Salinas Police honoring Officer Jorge David Alvarado, Jr, who was killed in 2022 and Officer Edgar Claude Smith, who was killed in 1945. Local officers say their courage and sacrifice reminds them why they serve.

Salinas Police Officers were present at memorial events in the nation's capital this week, paying respects to local heroes and others around the nation, standing side by side with other first responders, victims' families, and survivors.
