Wind advisory issued for parts of the Central Coast; gusts could be at least 45 mph

Monterey County, Calif. (KION-TV) — A wind advisory has been issued for parts of the Central Coast by the National Weather Service (NWS.)

The advisory goes into effect at 11:00 a.m. Saturday and will last until at least 5:00 a.m. Sunday. Expect northwest winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, according to the NWS.

The areas impacted locally will be Southern Monterey Bay, the Big Sur Coast, the Northern Salinas Valley, Hollister Valley, and Carmel Valley.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result, according to the NWS.
