Emergency severe weather shelters open in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) -- Two emergency shelters will be open tonight for those seeking shelter from the storm impacting Santa Cruz County.

Vintage Faith Church in Santa Cruz and Watsonville Vets Hall will welcome those seeking shelter on a first come, first served basis.

The line will start at 7 p.m. at both locations with a preference for people with disabilities and health risks.

Pets are also allowed if leashed. Food will also be served once intakes and bed assignments are completed.

The addresses for each location are as follows:

    350 Mission St.
    Santa Cruz, CA
  • Vets Hall
    215 E. Beach St.
    Watsonville, CA
