CHP: Mother threatened to intentionally crash car with abducted children inside

KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- CHP-San Jose is providing new details in the case of two children allegedly abducted out of a King City home on Saturday.

The CHP identifies the suspect, Jacqueline Guajardo, as the mother of the two children.

Officers said during the Amber Alert notice, they were given information that the mother made statements about wanting to intentionally crash the vehicle with the kids in the car.

The Amber Alert was issued around 5:30 p.m. by the CHP courtesy of King City Police who initially responded to reports of the missing children around 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Around 5:50 p.m., the CHP said they received calls from drivers who saw the vehicle traveling on Highway 87 near the Almaden Expressway.

The CHP said an unrelated traffic collision in the area forced traffic to move slowly and allowed officers at the scene of the collision to locate the vehicle Guajardo was driving. Officers were able to stop the vehicle.

Guajardo is arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. The CHP said the two children were released to family members and were unharmed.

Amber Alert issued Saturday night

The CHP issued an Amber Alert Saturday evening on behalf of the King City Police Department.

The CHP identified one victim as 2-year old Osvaldo Sebastian. He is described as being Hispanic, stands about 3 feet tall and weighs about 80 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes was last seen wearing a Spiderman sweatshirt and Snoopy pajama pants, according to the CHP.

The second victim was identified as 7-year old Selene Zavala. The CHP said she is also Hispanic, about 3 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs approximately 90 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing white and pink sweatshirt with the words "Princess Selene" written on it as well as white and blue pajama pants.

The CHP said the children were last seen on Livingston Avenue and San Antonio Drive in King City.

The CHP identified the suspect in this case as 28-year old Jacqueline Guajardo; she is described as being Hispanic, approximately 5 feet tall and weighing about 190 lbs. The CHP added she has brown hair and brown eyes.

Guajardo was last seen driving a 2016 Black Nissan Altima with a California license plate number 9EXF349, according to the CHP.

Anyone who sees the suspect, her vehicle, or the two children is asked to call 911.
