Highway 1 off-ramps reopen in Santa Cruz County after alleged shooting
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)-- The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office confirmed deputies were investigating an early morning shooting along Highway 1 on Friday.
It happened near the Southbound Airport Boulevard off-ramp between 4 and 5 a.m., according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said a person reported being shot at while they were walking on the highway; fortunately, that person was not hurt.
The suspect vehicle was described as an older gray Honda with tinted windows.
During the investigation, the CHP Santa Cruz office announced the southbound off-ramps at Airport Boulevard and Buena Vista Drive were briefly shut down, but both were reopened as of 10:30 a.m. Friday.
