Car over a cliff and into the water in Santa Cruz, one person taken to the hospital

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A car went down a cliff and into the water near West Cliff Drive and Swift Street in Santa Cruz, according to police. This, after a crash involving two cars, one of those cars running a stop sign hitting another car and going over a cliff, according to officials.

The fire department and two good samaritans went into the water to rescue the driver of the car in the water. They put the driver on a surfboard and then onto a boat, according to officials. The person was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the other car is expected to be okay, according to officials.
