What we know about the death of Liam Payne

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Argentine authorities continue to investigate the death of ex-One Direction singer Liam Payne, who died Oct. 16 at age 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. An official tells The Associated Press that there was cocaine in Payne’s system. But it’s not yet clear how much or what role it played. Authorities on Thursday raided the hotel where Payne died and collected additional video. Police responding to an emergency call from hotel staff arrived at the site just minutes before Payne’s death. His “One Direction” bandmates say they are “devastated” by the death.  Payne’s father went to Argentina to return his son’s body to the United Kingdom.
