1 Israeli Arab killed and 2 wounded in a shooting on a street in Istanbul
ISTANBUL (AP) — Authorities in Turkey say one Israeli Arab was shot to death and two were wounded as they sat in a car on an Istanbul street. Police are conducting a large-scale investigation and authorities say the killer dropped a handgun fitted with a silencer after the shooting late Sunday. The dead businessman’s father denied there had been any political motive for the attack. The apparently professional nature of the attack led to widespread speculation in the Turkish media over whether Israel may have been involved. But Istanbul Governor’s Office later said the killing was related to a debt. Three suspects are believed to have fled abroad within hours of the attack.
