Associated Press

ISTANBUL (AP) — Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has pledged to travel to Gaza as the Israel-Hamas war rages. Abbas addressed the Turkish parliament in Ankara on Thursday. He also called on Muslim leaders to join him in the enclave. Abbas said that “I have decided to go to Gaza with all my brothers in Palestine.” Abbas was invited to Turkey by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish leader is a prominent supporter of Hamas and the wider Palestinian cause. The offer came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the U.S. Congress in July.
