A timeline of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump
Associated Press
Some time on July 13, before Donald Trump’s evening campaign rally in Pennsylvania, officials say Thomas Matthew Crooks bought 50 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition for his AK-15-style rifle in Bethel Parks and drove north to the political event. Authorities say the 20-year-old parked at a gas station lot about one-third of a mile away from the rally. An Associated Press analysis of more than a dozen videos and photos from the scene in Butler, as well as satellite imagery of the site, shows that the shooter was able to get astonishingly close to the stage from which Trump spoke.
