CLOUDS, SUN & BREEZY

Your forecast for Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and southern Santa Clara Counties…

Daytime temps become more seasonal and still breezy with those onshore winds! Micro climates in full play with cool but seasonal temps at coast and very warm inland. Some inland spots in the upper 80s Saturday. Expect more of the same for Sunday. The big hot ridge that brought the warmest days of the year so far for many areas across the Central Coast has moved to the east. In its wake, a weak trough has taken over on the West Coast, allowing for the marine layer to deepen and cooler air to prevail. Temperatures aloft will bottom out this weekend before slowly rising into early next week as another ridge of high pressure builds. Some inland spots could be in the triple digits again. Stay tuned.

AIR QUALITY: Good to Moderate

Overnight: Low clouds will thicken and fill the bay and major valleys, becoming mostly cloudy at the coast, partly to mostly cloudy inland. Areas of patchy fog possible through the evening and night. Temperatures will be near seasonable with widespread low 50s, with far interior locations dropping into the upper 40s. Patchy drizzle likely for coastal and near coastal cities.

Sunday: AM fog/drizzle with clouds lingering at the coast again before afternoon sun and sunny inland. Temps stay seasonal in low to mid 60s coastal and mid 60s to 80's inland.

Extended: We can expect rising temps Monday through Wednesday with peak temps Tuesday. Offshore winds aloft and shallow marine layer will allow the warmer conditions. Coastal areas will see temps in 60s and 70s. Some Inland areas could hit the 90s and triple digits.
