Monterey High Boys Basketball celebrates championship win with parade through downtown

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The City of Monterey is celebrating Monterey High School's State Basketball Championship with a parade through the heart of the city.

The parade will start at Monterey High School before moving through downtown Monterey.

Monterey Police says road closures will be in place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on May 3, 2024 as the parade rolls through.

Traffic will be diverted as the city honors the high school's boys basketball team.

Monterey High earned their championship after defeating number 1 seeded Chatsworth Charter School 74-66 back on March 9, 2024.
