SAN BENITO, Calif. (KION-TV)- Early voting for the March primaries is now underway. Voters deciding who’s going to make the November ballot. But before you hit the polls, there are some changes for voters, you should know about it.

One of the major changes that voters are going to experience this time around is the four vote centers being placed throughout the county of San Benito.

"Voters can show up regardless of where they live in the county, and they can actually vote," Francisco Diaz, the County Clerk of San Benito.

Housing costs, gas prices, inflation and wars are some of the key issues that are drawing voters to the polls. Many of the candidates running will be tackling those issues.

This includes presidential hopefuls and local candidates trying to tackle the housing crisis on the Central Coast.

When people go into vote for the primary elections it is important for voters to be cautious with how they're registering to vote. The political party preference will determine how and what candidate will be on your presidential ballot.

There are six qualified political parties in California; American independent party, Democratic, Green, Libertarian, Peace and Freedom and the Republican party.

The County Clerk Recorder-elections says, "for San Benito County they had around 2.80% of voter turned out for the presidential elections."

One other issue unique to San Benito County is the change in location for its main elections office.

The county was forced to move its office to 1601 Lana Way after a fire left the previous building uninhabitable.

The last day to register to vote for the March primary elections is on February 20th.
