King City High student arrested for shooting threats toward Hispanic students
KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV)-- King City Police said that they arrested a juvenile Monday morning for making threats to commit a school shooting, specifically targeting Hispanic students, according to police.
At around 6:23 a.m. police were called about a 17-year-old student from Bradley was making threats and planning to commit a shooting at King City High School.
Police said multiple students called their parents in fear saying that a student was making threats to shoot Hispanic students.
Police identified the student, arrested them at 8:20 a.m. and he was booked into the Monterey County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Due to the arrest, police don't believe any additional threats to public safety exist.
The King City Police Department takes any threat to the safety of children, schools, or our community as a threat to the safety of our community and will deploy all available resources when this occurs.
