Bars gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day
SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV)- With tomorrow being St. Patrick’s Day, restaurants are expecting to be busy for the first time in two years.
“We're pretty excited for it,” said Marianna Aguilar, the General Manager at Growers Pub. “We have a couple plans from the back of the house to the front of the house. All the staff is pretty excited.”
Inside Growers Pub, St. Patrick’s Day decorations have been placed around the restaurant, from the entrance to the tables.
“Everything's going to be real festive and we just want to make it fun,” said Jasmine Gomez, the head bartender.
For two years, the pandemic impacted the way the bar and restaurant celebrated the holiday.
“St. Patrick's Day 2020, we had flyers out,” said Gomez. “We were supposed to host this huge St. Patrick's day party and it was day one the shutdown.”
Around this time last year, the restaurant and bar was only able to operate at 25%. But this year, it’s operating in full swing.
It plans to serve festive drinks and entrees.
“The chef already ordered the corn beef and cabbage, the traditional dinner,” said Aguilar. “It's going to be joined with carrots and roasted potatoes.”
Growers Pub is ready to bring back the holiday festivities. The restaurant said customers are calling to see what they have planned and it expects to be a busy day tomorrow.
