Sheriff’s Office: Aptos school threat appears to be unfounded

APTOS, Calif. (KION) The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said it investigated a potential threat against Aptos Junior High School Wednesday night.

Investigators said somebody overheard "concerning comments" on the campus, but after speaking to the person who made the comments, deputies believe the threat was unfounded.

The Sheriff's Office will have extra deputies patrolling the area Thursday morning.
