State leaders provide update on Dixie Fire in Northern California

QUINCY, Calif. (KION) Leaders from around California provided an update on efforts to contain the Dixie Fire and help communities impacted.

The fire is now the single largest wildfire in state history.

Officials said they are actively in the process of doing damage assessment and are moving quickly into recovery mode. Some of the concerns for the next few days include monsoonal moisture and dry lightning.

The news conference at the Plumas County Fairgrounds included Cal OES Director Mark Ghilarducci, Cal Fire Director Thom Porter and California Highway Patrol Commissioner Amanda Ray, among others.
