Fire burns one home, multiple vehicles in Martinez

MARTINEZ, Calif. (KION and CBS SF) A two-alarm fire has burned at least one home and at least 6 vehicles in Martinez Wednesday afternoon, according to KION's sister station in the Bay Area.

KPIX reports that there were several explosions at the scene, a hilltop home at Cambark Court, but the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was confined to the structure and surrounding property.

The fire was reportedly knocked down by about 3:15 p.m., but residents were told to expect activity in the area for a couple hours.

The fire was located under high-tension power lines and a tower, and KPIX reports that there were 20 mph winds in the area around the time the fire started.

So far there has not been a report on the cause of the fire or reports of injuries.
