Some Monterey County schools cancel classes due to power, internet outages

UPDATE (01/28/2021) - MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) -- North Monterey County Unified School District is back open today.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: (01/27/2021) An overnight storm has left many families without power or internet, so some schools have decided to cancel classes.

The ones that have announced cancellations so far include:

  • North Monterey County Unified School District
  • Castroville Elementary

Castroville Elementary is asking families to have their children focus on finishing assignments or catching up.
