Firefighters respond to fire near Corral de Tierra
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION)
UPDATE 1/13/2021 6 p.m. Cal Fire BEU says the Mesa Fire is still about two acres, but it is 80% contained.
The agency said firefighters will continue to mop up in the area through Thursday.
UPDATE 1/13/2021 2:40 p.m. Crews are still at the scene of a fire off Corral de Tierra.
Originally, it was reported near Highway 68, but it is closer to Mesa Del Sol.
Cal Fire BEU is calling it the Mesa Fire, and at last update, it was still two acres.
PREVIOUS STORY: The Monterey County Regional Fire Protection District said it is responding to a vegetation fire near Corral de Tierra and Highway 68 along with Cal Fire.
The district reports that the fire is 2 acres, and smoke is visible in the area.
