Salinas officers seize guns from suspected gang members
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) Three guns were seized from men who Salinas police say are gang members Tuesday night.
Officers stopped a vehicle for violations near N. Main Street and Iris Street, and inside were two men, identified as 35-year-old Roy Govea Jr. and 18-year-old Daniel Ramirez. Police said Govea was on probation and both are gang members.
When officers searched the vehicle, they said they found a revolver with a scratched off serial number in a backpack at Ramirez's feet.
After that, police conducted a probation check at the men's home in Gonzales. At that location, officers said they found a ghost rifle and ghost handgun.
Police believe all three guns belong to Ramirez, who was booked into the Monterey County Jail on weapons charges.
