Soledad Police: Two arrested for having illegal guns with help of multiple law enforcement agencies
SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION) Two people have been arrested in Soledad for having illegal guns during a search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, according to police.
At around 5 a.m. Tuesday, law enforcement searched two homes in Rancho Cordova and two in Soledad for stolen property, illegal weapons and drugs.
During the searches, Soledad officers said they found a handgun with the serial number removed; a handgun reported stolen out of Yuma, AZ; stolen property; drugs and illegal fireworks.
Two suspects were arrested in Soledad, Luis Rios and Jose Alvarado. Both are booked into the Monterey County Jail on multiple charges.
In the past month, police said they have confiscated 11 illegal handguns and rifles.
In addition to Soledad police, other agencies involved in the searches include the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Homeland Security Investigations, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, California State Parole, the Sacramento County Probation Department and the Placer County Task Force.
