Man arrested on gun-related charges at Salinas Motel 6

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A man who police believe was under the influence of drugs was arrested Wednesday on several gun-related charges.

At about 1:30 p.m., officers responded to Motel 6 parking lot on De La Torre Street for a report of a man with a gun. When they got there, they said they found a man standing outside an RV holding a handgun.

Officers said they told to man to drop the gun, and after a "few tense moments," he obeyed.

Police said it appears that the man fired the gun inside the RV multiple times before officers arrived.
