Biden/Harris celebrations on the Central Coast

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION)

From Santa Cruz to Watsonville, people turned the streets into a big party after hearing the news that Presidential Candidate Joe Biden was projected to be the winner.

With Biden reaching more than 270 electoral votes, many say it's safe to call his victory but others say the fight for the 2020 Presidency is not over yet.

A member of the Monterey County Republican Party says they are waiting for all votes to be counted.

"I believe the truth will prevail and at the end of the day, Trump will be shown to be the rightful winner," says Karen Reissman.
