Gilroy man dies in crash on State Route 152
GILROY, Calif. (KION) A 25-year-old Gilroy man has died following a crash on State Route 152 Saturday.
The California Highway Patrol said that at around 12:40 a.m., the man was heading east at an unknown speed when he veered to the right west of Bloomfield Avenue.
Investigators said the vehicle he was driving, a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500, went off the south edge of the road and hit a power pole and two trees. The vehicle continued to move east as it spun in a clockwise direction, and he was ejected through the driver side door.
The driver died of his injuries at the scene. Investigators do not know if drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash.
