SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) A man with outstanding warrants for his arrest was found in a stolen RV, according to Santa Cruz police.

An officer was patrolling the area to cite and remove vehicles that were a nuisance or a health and safety hazard, and he found an RV that had been reported stolen on Josephine Street.

There was a possibility that there could be someone inside with weapons, so police said the officer called for backup and when backup arrived, they set up around the RV and made an announcement over a PA that anyone inside should come out.

The suspect, who police identify as Alejandro Eclarino, came out and was detained. He told police that someone named Tony told him he could stay in the RV, but in addition to having a stolen vehicle, he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
