Camper injured when tree limb falls on Big Sur camp site

BIG SUR, Calif. (KION) A camper was airlifted to the hospital after being injured by a tree limb Monday morning.

According to state parks, the 58-year-old man was camping at one of the sites in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and was sitting at a picnic table when a sycamore tree limb fell on him. Officials estimate that the limb was about 50 feet long.

The man was found non-responsive, but still breathing and was airlifted to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
