Six people arrested during Hollister DUI checkpoints
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION) Hollister police conducted two DUI checkpoints in September, and six people have been arrested as a result.
On the 5th and 26th, police set up checkpoints at different parts of the city. Four residents were arrested for alleged DUI at the checkpoints, and police issued 56 citations to people driving on a suspended licence or driving without a license. Two additional drivers were arrested on DUI charges in other parts of the city on those days.
The six drivers had blood alcohol concentrations of between .08% and .31%. It is illegal for anyone to drive with a BAC of .08% or higher in California. Several of the drivers had double the legal limit and one of them had a BAC nearly four times the legal limit.
