SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Monterey County District Attorney's Office said a Greenfield man has been sentenced to four years in prison for arranging to meet one teen for a sexual purpose and communicating with another for a sexual purpose.

One of the teens, who was 15-years-old, said she met the man, 32-year-old Miguel Angel Morales Mendez, on social media. She told him her age, and Mendez told her he was 21, even though he was 31 at the time. The DA's Office said they talked online for about three months before meeting in person twice. One of those times, the teen said Mendez kissed her.

The other teen, who was also 15, said she met Mendez on social media. She said he again lied about his age when she told him hers. The DA's Office said Mendez told her he wanted a romantic relationship with her, but she declined and eventually blocked him on social media.

In addition to a prison sentence, Mendez will be required to register as a sex offender.
