Suspect arrested in connection to stabbing on La Salle Avenue

SEASIDE, Calif. (KION) A man has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in connection to an overnight stabbing.

Police said they were called to the 1200 block of La Salle Avenue for a report of a stabbing at about 2 a.m. When officers got there, they said they found a man with multiple stab wounds and another man with a knife covered in blood.

The suspect is identified as 20-year-old Rafael Cedeno. He cooperated, according to police, and was arrested. The victim was taken to Natividad to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police said they are still investigating what led to the stabbing, but they do not believe it was gang-related.
