Pacific Grove police present plaque honoring Sgt. Gutzwiller to Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office is sharing it's gratitude to the Pacific Grove Police Department for a gift honoring the late Sgt. Damon Gutzwiller.
The plaque presented by Officer Saul Rodriguez, Officer Paul Nagamine and Commander Rory Lakind, and it includes Gutzwiller's name and badge. The engraving was done by Rick Ashwood in Colorado.
The Sheriff's Office said it has received support from many law enforcement agencies since Gutzwiller was killed in an ambush in Ben Lomond two months ago.
Thursday marked two months since Gutzwiller's death, and the Sheriff's Office shared memories of him helping to create Santa's Mailbox and a maze game at the annual Trunk or Treat event.
"These are just two of the countless memories we have and will forever remember him by. Be like Damon," the Sheriff's Office said in the post.
